Sussex Squire Wines is an award winning family owned winery in the beautiful Clare Valley. As one of the smallest producers, their intent is on producing red wines from some of the many different varieties from single vineyards in the Clare Valley.

Sussex Squire Wines craft their award winning single varietal wines with a focus on the interesting single site vineyards that produce a unique expression of flavours that is influenced by each vintage. The winemaking is focused with minimal inputs to ensure they allow the grapes to express the true character of the vineyard.

Their flagship Shiraz is from their 25+year old dry grown vineyard is maintained and managed with organic vineyard practices with the Black Suffolk sheep roaming the vineyard during the winter months to provide fertiliser and weed control. In 2020 they included plantings of Nero d’Avola, Sangiovese, Grenache, Mataro, Malbec and in 2023 added Cabernet Sauvignon and Montepulciano . Major varieties produced; Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Mataro, Sangiovese, Grenache, Riesling.

Their cellar door is open 7 days with wine tastings between 6-9 wines taking 30-45 minutes with the owners Skye and Mark taking you through their line up of current releases and explaining the process and vineyards that they source their fruit from to make their wine.
