Cradle Mountain Helicopters offer scenic tours over the Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park and beyond.
The 60-minute Southwest Adventure flight truly captures the untamed nature of the wild west coast and Southwest World Heritage Area. We depart from our helipad at the northern end of the visitor information centre carpark and head down past Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake and Crater Lake nestled at its foot. We then continue our journey southwards over Fury Gorge. From here, we pass rugged landscapes of mountains and valleys, including Mount Pelion East, Mount Pelion West, Mount Ossa and Eldon Bluff. We then come into sight of the vast Lake Burbury on the outskirts of Queenstown, where we turn back north.
Queenstown is a unique sight to see from above, with the desolate landscape a stark contrast to the surrounding environment. In the distance, passengers are able to see the untamed Southern Ocean and the town of Strahan. As we travel back to our helipad, we soar over the small town of Tullah on the banks of Lake Murchison before returning to the helipad over the Vale of Belvoir.
Please note that all flights are subject to suitable flying weather.
