The Ultimo features modern accommodations in the vibrant Chinatown district. Constructed in 1911 as a key component in Haymarket’s transition to become Sydney’s fresh fruit market, the heritage-listed building is a reminder of Sydney’s bustling and vibrant commercial heritage which continues to this day.
The character of the hotel showcases its original historic roots within a contemporary setting as seen through its exposed brick walls and graphic tile. You will experience an iconic story of heritage meets industrial modernism, East meets West, New York in China Town.
The boutique hotel features 88 rooms across six categories from the cosy Ultimo Single to spacious and pet friendly Ultimo Studio.

These rooms have plenty of original historic detailing; exposed brick, large ornate windows, and views of the surrounding Chinatown neighbourhood. Best of all they come with our comfy bed, air-con, and flat screen TV. Maximum occupancy 1 person.
Ultimo Queen
A nice and cosy room with the bonus of large windows, perfect for taking in all the action of the neighbourhood below. A room with a queen sized bed, it’s just what you need for that short getaway. The historic architecture has been retained making these rooms a joy to stay in. Best of all they come with our usual features; comfy bed, fresh air from windows that open or air-con, flat screen TV. Maximum occupancy 2 persons.
Ultimo King
Get comfortable in a room with a bit more space, either with a big king size bed or two king single beds to rest your head. These rooms have plenty of original historic detailing; exposed brick, large ornate windows, and views of the surrounding Chinatown neighbourhood. A new addition to the room types, the Ultimo Trio is tailored to suit a small family getaway. Also boasting brand new bedding, these rooms contain 1 queen and 1 single. Also including a flat screen TV, ensuite and tea and coffee making facilities. Maximum occupancy 3 persons.
Ultimo Family
For those looking for a bit more space, this room lets you sleep the whole family, spread out and make yourself at home. A spacious room complete with two king size beds.
