Victor Harbor Museum and Gift Shop a little gem located close to all the popular attractions on Flinders Parade. The museum will transport you back in time, to when the town was a thriving pioneer port and then a popular seaside resort. Discover stories about the encounter of Flinders and Baudin, the sometimes-gruesome whaling industry and its connection to South Australia’s maritime history.
Discover the true story of the first shipwreck in South Australia, rediscovered in Encounter Bay and now a part of an interactive exhibit, get to see the artifacts brought back from the depths and watch as archeologists dive to discover its secrets.
Imagine life in the early days of Victor Harbor.
Take a stroll through the gardens and the 1866 Heritage House.
Interactive displays and activities for all ages. School and Tour groups are always welcome. A registered destination for the Children’s University and Australian Adventure Passport.
Annual events are always something to look forward to. In December the museum is alight with Christmas lights, and joins the local pageant and the Heritage Steam Ranger’s Southern Lights Special, these plus other events not to be missed.

The premises are wheelchair friendly, bus parking and free carparking adjacent.

The Museum is conveniently located next to picnic areas, the start of the famous causeway and horse drawn tram and close to the railway station.
