At the Wadlata Outback Centre you can creep through the jaws of Max, a giant Ripper lizard to begin an unforgettable adventure. Journey back to when the dinosaurs first roamed this land in the Flinders Ranges and Outback’s multi-award winning Tunnel of Time.
You can meet the people who first owned, explored and settled in the region. In the G’Day Mate Theatre you’ll meet the people who live here today. Learn about fossils, the Mound Springs along the Oodnadatta Track and the Outback’s precious Opals and minerals. Go underground at Olympic Dam for a real blast. Listen to the kids on the School of the Air and learn how the Royal Flying Doctor Service meets the medical needs of people in remote areas. Try your hand at Morse code or just relax and watch Tom Cruise’s Mail Run.
The Outback Tuckerbox makes great coffee and the Outback Burger or the Quandong cheesecake are irresistible. The accredited Tourist Information Centre will book your tours and accommodation and is able to provide all your holiday information. The gift shop has an extensive range of books, maps and gifts. Authentic local and regional Aboriginal paintings are also for sale.
