The Wildbrumby Distillery, located in the picturesque Thredbo Valley of Australia’s Snowy Mountains, has a unique story rooted in skiing and schnapps. Founded by Brad Spalding, a former ski instructor, and his wife Monika, whose grandfather was a distiller in Austria, the distillery aims to bring authentic European schnapps to the Australian alpine region.

To realise their vision, the couple imported a German still and opened the distillery in 2003. They combine traditional distilling methods with locally sourced organic fruits and botanicals to create a range of liqueur schnapps, gin, and vodka that cater to Australian palates.

Beyond spirits, the Spaldings also foster artistic expression and provide a sanctuary for the arts. The distillery features a sculpture garden and showcases Brad’s own artwork, which often depicts the captivating beauty of the Snowy Mountains and skiing in Australia.

Wildbrumby has gained recognition for its high-quality products, and customers can purchase them through the distillery or online. The combination of fine spirits, artistic ambience, and breathtaking surroundings has made Wildbrumby a destination where visitors can unwind, appreciate the arts, and savour the taste of European culture in the heart of the Australian alpine region.
