Join Balgownie Estate this summer for an unforgettable evening of fine food and stargazing, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Victoria (ASV).
The night begins with a shared dining feast on long communal tables, offering a selection of seasonal dishes to enjoy at a leisurely pace. As you dine, volunteers from the ASV will provide a presentation about the celestial wonders you will be viewing later in the evening.
After dinner, you will be guided through the night sky, with telescopes set up by ASV members to offer a closer look at a range of celestial sights. From globular star clusters to nebulae, and even galaxies beyond your own, this unique blend of visual observing and live stacking will give you a chance to experience the cosmos in a way that few have.
They recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes as you will be walking on uneven ground to get to the perfect viewing point.
