Pioneer Park is located at 17a Thomas Street, formally known as Apex Park, was transferred to Council from Crown on 13 October 2021.
A large grassy park featuring a children’s road safety bike park, play ground, skate park, walking track, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, public toilets.
The road safety bike park which is a safe & fun environment in which children can ride their bike and learn the road rules and conditions they will encounter whilst using their bicycles on the road network.
Heritage gravestones can also be viewed at the park as two known cemeteries were originally established in Pioneer Park. The Church of England Cemetery, known as Torquay-God’s acre (North West Post, 1888) and Wesleyan Cemetery located along Wright Street.
A good place to stop before or after catching the Spirit of Tasmania and located within minutes of the terminal.
