A guided stroll through one of the most beautiful though little-known parts of the Park Lands. Home to an historic relic of Adelaide’s 19th century infrastructure, two croquet grounds, playing fields and the magnificent 1880’s “carriageway” of huge elm trees. The trail includes segments across grass and through forest. Dogs (on leads) most welcome.

Trees for Life Bush Care site
A unique remnant bushland grove containing many indigenous species that have been reintroduced to the area by a dedicated group of volunteers, to mimic the type of native vegetation that once encompassed this area.
Two Croquet Clubs and Dog Obedience Club
Both the South Tce Croquet club, established in 1911 and the SA Croquet headquarters are both within Park 17 and both are still in use, as is the Dog Obedience Club nearby
Rehabilitated South Park Lands Creek
Recent earthmoving and landscaping work has reduced flood risk, improved walking trails, and increased biodiversity along the route of the South Park Lands creek adjacent to the elm carriageway.

Adelaide Park Lands Walking Tours
Guided Walks to explore little-known nooks and crannies of Adelaide’s greatest treasure: the unique open spaces of its Park Lands.
Adelaide is the only city in the world garlanded by Park Lands. In effect the city is built inside a park, and each part of the Park has its own unique features, heritage, and current usage.
Guided Walks are led by trained Tour leaders and can take between 90 minutes and two hours depending upon the location.
