During Illuminate Adelaide 2026, FUTUREJUICE brings together an exhibition that celebrates the creative possibilities from the techno-verse. Automation Bias exhibits innovative artworks that incorporate modern mechanics and robotics.
Automation Bias is a theory long used to critique blind reliance on machines and computerised systems. Similar thoughts and concerns have recently been prevalent resulting from the tech advancements of the previous 5 years, particularly in AI and humanoid robotics. Many of these concerns hold a narrow perspective that blames technology & algorithms in positioning humans as victims of ‘humanity deficit’ and ‘brainrot’. The exhibition for Illuminate Adelaide will bring together an exciting mix of local, interstate and international artists, including feature commissions from leading new media artists as well as key robotic artworks that have marked tech-art history.
Expect an engaging program of events, tour, talks, cinema clubs and workshops.
