The Queenscliffe Historical Museum is a regional cultural history museum located in Queenscliff, Victoria, Australia.
A new exhibition was created for the museum’s new home in the newly-built Queenscliffe Hub, Wirrng Wirrng, which opened in October 2022.
The exhibition covers the history of Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale through story-telling across three themes: Origins and Environment (including pre-European colonisation); Creating Community; Queen of Watering Places (tourism). The museum holds temporary exhibitions, the latest (2024-2025) on Swan Bay and Swan Island. A new exhibition Living in the 70’s will be installed in late 2026.
Visitors can spend an hour or so in the museum, viewing displays, historical films and photographs. There is also a corner with toys for young children and a quiz for children aged from five to about 12.
The museum welcomes research inquiries, either in person or via the website.
