Offering 185 years of history, unique accommodation and activities, in the picturesque Clare Valley, staying at this iconic property is an immersive country experience.

Guests will stay in beautifully renovated heritage cottages on the 7000 acre farming property. The cottages are self contained, with 1-4 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom/s and sitting rooms with wood fires and air conditioning. All bedding is provided as well as full breakfast provisions, with other catering available by prior arrangement.

While staying at Bungaree, guests can tour the station complex, enjoy wide open spaces, feed animals, use the swimming pool, or simply relax around the fire with some local wine. Walking trails through the paddocks and guided farm experiences are also available. Tours of the many attractions of the Clare Valley, including wineries, art galleries and museums, can also be arranged.

Located just a 2 hour drive from Adelaide, in the beautiful Clare Valley, the property is also well located for short trips to this world renowned wine region as well as a worthwhile stopover on longer trips to the Flinders Ranges and Eyre Peninsula.

The Groom’s Quarters once accommodated the property’s groom, close to where the horses were stabled. Today, it is a self-contained two-bedroom apartment that can accommodate up to four people, so it is perfect for a small family or group of friends. It can also be booked with the adjoining “harness room” to provide an additional two bedrooms and accommodate a larger group of up to 7 people.

Self contained apartment with either two bedrooms (one bedroom with one queen, one bedroom with two singles) or four bedrooms (two additional bedrooms; one bedroom with one queen, one bedroom with one single), bathroom and open plan kitchen/sitting room. Facilities include dishwasher, air conditioning and TV/DVD. Bedding and bath towels provided, as well as provisions for breakfast. Complimentary activities for guests including self guided history trail around station complex, walking trails and animal feeding.

Lodge

The Lodge was once the gatekeeper’s cottage, located near the original carriageway where today the closest neighbours are sheep and deer! Perfect for a small family or group of friends.

Self contained cottage in secluded location with two bedrooms (one with queen, one with two singles), bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. Facilities include wood fire, air conditioning, television/DVD and barbecue. Bedding, bath towels and breakfast provided, as well as complimentary activities for guests including self guided history trail and animal feeding. Nearby are the many attractions of the Clare Valley, including wineries and museums.

This building served as the meeting place of the local Council, as well as the school house. Today, this cottage can accommodate up to 5 people and is well suited to 2 couples or a family, with 2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

Once accommodating the property’s stallion, this cottage is ideal for a couple, containing a queen bedroom suite, with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. French doors open onto a verandah that is perfect for BBQs and enjoying a bottle of Clare Valley wine on warm evenings.

This cottage once accommodated the iconic travelling swagman, who travelled the country doing manual tasks in exchange for a meal and a bed for the night. The verandah has picturesque views across to the woolshed, perfect for enjoying a bottle of Clare Valley wine on warm evenings.
