Join Walk Local on this one day walk on the fabulous Lavender Federation Trail. An 18km loop through the Eden Valley.
Surrounded by rolling hills and stands of ancient red gums, Eden Valley is known as the ‘Garden of Grapes and Gums’. At first glance, Eden Valley is a quaint and quiet little town, but look closely and you’ll see a bustling world of hidden vineyards, contoured through the scenic hillsides to produce some of the region’s most prestigious cool-climate wines.
Stopping en-route for morning tea and then again for our picnic lunch enjoying famous Barossa produce. The Barossa food story is a multi-faceted, continually evolving ode to seasonality and regionality. It tells of fruit ripened to perfection and vegetables bursting with real flavour. Of milk and cheese that taste of goodness and of poultry, pork and lamb that are fed well and nurtured with kindness. Of artisan food prepared with care and passion. Our picnic lunch showcases the very best of the Barossa.
In the afternoon we travel back to the town of Angaston to the Barossa Cheese Company where we do a wine and cheese pairing.
