A full day tour of the King Valley that takes in more than just wineries.
The Grains:
Start the day with a visit to the Hurdle Creek Still where you will taste some innovative blends of Gin, Pastisse and the mixers that go with them.
The Grapes:
Moving on to what the King Valley is famous for – its Italian varieties; after all this is the home of Australian Prosecco. You will visit two wineries, with one of those being a lunch stop at the beautiful Chrismont Wines at the southern end of the valley. Lunch is included in the cost of the tour with a glass of wine.
The Hops:
Lastly, there is nothing better than a cleansing Ale, so a stop at King River Brewing rounds out the day with a tasting paddle of 3 beers or a pint of your favourite, before heading back to your accommodation.
Itinerary highlights
A taste of King Valley's finest
King Valley is all about Food, Wine and the simple things done well. We’ve included a snap-shot of the best the Valley has to offer. Simon and the Team at Hurdle Creek are passionate about their product and that is reflected in the presentation of the Gins which are made with local botanicals.
Likewise the typical Italian passion is evident in the wines that are produced, with favourites such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Arneis and Vermentino making up a great cross section wines on offer.
Lunch at Chrismont is a true highlight for us, in that it is fine dining without the fine dining price tag – truly simple things done well.
Rounding out the day with a craft beer just solidifies all the Valley has to offer, with no less than 12 beers available on tap at any time – there is sure to be something for everyone at King River Brewing and Nathan and the team here will guide you through their unique brews.
No matter how you choose your time in the King Valley, don’t do it in a rush.
