Mattia will pick you up at 5.15am from your accommodation for the Katherine Gorge – Mataranka – Edith Falls tour.
The tour will visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery is a sobering reminder of the impact World War II had on this part of Australia. There will be a 30-minute stop at Edith Falls. You can go for a swim if the Pool is open!
The tour will arrive at Katherine Gorge by 10.45am where you will get to ready for your boat tour at 11.00am. Enjoy the most beautiful gorge in the NT.
After the cruise you will head to Mataranka; it is an hour drive. Enjoy the clear and warm water of the hot springs, in the Never Never. After Mataranka the tour will travel to Pine Creek. Established in the late 1800s after a gold rush in the area, Pine Creek is located 90km north of Katherine.
There will be a pub dinner at the 303 Bar in Adelaide River; you will live a full NT outback experience. Meet Charlie, the Buffalo in the Crocodile Dundee movie.

The Adelaide River War Cemetery
The Adelaide River War Cemetery is a sobering reminder of the impact World War II had on this part of Australia.
There are 434 military burials in total and the adjoining Civil Cemetery honors 63 civilians including the nine post office workers who were killed in the 19 February 1942 bombing of Darwin. Also visit the Memorial to the Missing, where 292 service personnel are remembered, who lost their lives in Timor and other northern regions.
There is an informative Information Centre with videos and signs.
We are going to have breakfast organized by Mattia.
Edith Falls Lower Pool
We stop for 30 minutes at Edith Falls. You can go for a swim if the Pool is open!
Katherine Gorge Cruise
By 10.45 we will get to Katherine Gorge, ready for your boat tour at 11.00 AM. Enjoy the most beautiful gorge in the NT, and learn about Jawoyn people and their Country. It is a stunning 2-hour cruise. NT Top Adventures will give you a lunch pack to eat on the Boat.
Mataranka
After the Boat we are going to drive to Mataranka, it is an hour drive. Enjoy the clear and warm water of the hot Springs, in the Never Never.
Bitter Springs is one of two natural thermal pools in Elsey National Park.
Spring water rises from underground at a rate of 30.5million litres per day.
The water is very warm all year round.
Pine Creek
After Mataranka we are going to drive back to Pine Creek. It is 2-hour drive. If the time allows us, we will do a surprise stop in another swimming spot.
Established in the late 1800s after a gold rush in the area, Pine Creek is located 90km north of Katherine.
The town is a treasure trove of heritage bush buildings and mining sites. Echoes of the gold rush days are still evident in the historic Pine Creek Settlement. Gold was discovered at Pine Creek in 1871 by construction workers on the Overland Telegraph Line. There is a small and informative museum and preserved railway station within the township.
Pub Dinner
We are going to have complementary dinner at the 303 Bar in Adelaide River. It is such an historical place; you will live a full NT outback experience. We can meet Charlie, the Buffalo in the Crocodile Dundee movie.
