Discover Melbourne’s hidden corners on foot with our Laneways Discovery Running Tour—an 8km (5-mile) urban adventure starting at 8:00 am from Federation Square. Led by friendly local guides, this tour winds through iconic laneways and lesser-known streets, revealing the city’s unique mix of history, art, and culture.

Kick things off at Hosier Lane, where ever-changing street art bursts with colour and creativity. From there, we jog to ACDC Lane, a tribute to Aussie rock history and home to some of Melbourne’s most vibrant laneway life. The path leads to Birrarung Marr, where we soak in skyline views and stories of the city’s transformation.

The run continues past the Mitre Tavern, one of Melbourne’s oldest pubs, and the majestic State Library Victoria, before heading by the historic Old Melbourne Gaol, once home to the infamous Ned Kelly. We’ll pass through Little Lon, once a gritty working-class district, now buzzing with bars and eateries, and jog through the lantern-lined laneways of Chinatown.

Wrap things up with a well-earned coffee stop at Centre Place, Melbourne’s laneway café capital. Equal parts workout and cultural deep-dive, this tour is perfect for runners who love exploring beyond the surface.
