Immerse yourself in Dja Dja Wurrung culture and Country at Larni Yirrip (Home of the Ironbarks) Campground in Bendigo Regional Park.
This contemporary cultural space reflects traditional Dja Dja Wurrung values, with landscaping, storytelling and large gathering shelters. A welcome and ceremonial area introduces visitors through artwork and signage, while a communal cooking space features a fire pit and natural amphitheatre-style seating. Gatjin (water) is restored on site through ponds that support dum (frogs) and culturally significant plants.
The campground offers 12 walk-in tent sites (no caravan or trailer access) set among shady Box-Ironbark forest rich in wildlife. Each site includes a fireplace, picnic table and shelter, with toilets nearby. Parking bays are provided between four metres and 70 metres from campsites, with one wheelchair-accessible site available. Campfires are allowed in fireplaces; bring your own firewood as collection is not permitted.
Conveniently located on Bendigo’s southern side, Larni Yirrip connects to local trails including the Bendigo Bushland Trail, Bendigo Creek Trail, Crusoe Reservoir and Number 7 Park walks, and Big Hill Lookout. Bookings are required. The campground maybe closed during Dja Dja Wurrung cultural events. Please check Parks Victoria’s website for more information.
On Extreme and Catastrophic Fire Danger days the Campground will be closed. Stay alert and check the Fire Danger Rating and for days of Total Fire Ban.
