Luncheon Bay sits at the northern end of Hook Island in The Whitsundays. A sheltered setting and easy beach entry make it a popular first step for new divers and a simple choice for snorkellers.
Close to shore, fringing reef and scattered coral bommies create calm pathways over hard and soft corals. Certified divers can explore gentle swim-throughs, including a narrow canyon often nicknamed the Tunnel of Love.
Marine life commonly includes anemonefish, parrotfish, sweetlip and larger wrasse, with rays over the sand and turtles grazing on the reef. Conditions are usually best in light winds and on neap tides, and local guides select sites on the day to suit weather and visibility.
