Fly from Adelaide to Flinders Ranges
Our walk skirts along the charming Bunyeroo Creek, a watercourse that is often dry but remarkably passes right through the rugged Heysen Range forming Bunyeroo Gorge. This magnificent serene rocky gorge is surrounded by river gums and provides great opportunities for viewing the native wildlife such as the rare Yellow footed rock wallaby. Afterwards enjoy our drive back to Rawnsley Park taking in som amazing lookouts along the way. With some free time to relax at our accommodation or take a dip in the pool to refresh. Tonight indulge in a sensational dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant accompanied with wonderful wines from South Australia.
Bunyeroo Gorge

Black Gap to Wilpena Pound Visitor Centre
Today’s walk offers remarkable views from the southern perimeter of the crater like formation of Wilpena Pound and forms part of the 1200km Heysen Trail. Our walk starts from Black Gap and heads to Bridle Gap which offers spectacular views of the ancient mountain ranges. From here we descend to a picturesque creek walk through forests of pretty red river gums, finishing at the Wilpena Pound Visitor’s Centre. Afterwards we return to our accommodation where you can relax on your verandah and take in the spectacular views. Enjoy dinner and wine tonight in the Woolshed Hotel featuring modern cuising from paddock to plate!
Tanderra Saddle
Today our walk takes us to Tanderra Saddle one of the iconic walks of the Flinders Ranges. This walk is a shorter section of the 9 hour steep St Mary Peak hike, but just as rewarding as if offers spectacular views. The hike begins climbing through forests and as the elevation increases you are rewarded with spectacular view of the Pound, salt lakes and St Marys Peak. From the top of the saddle you will be able to appreciate the huge size of the pound and the surrounding Heysen and ABC ranges . Please note the indigenous Adnyamathanha people request that visitors do not climb St Marys Peak, therefore in respect we only travel to the Tanderra Saddle below. Afterwards we return to our accommodation and enjoy a superb dinner in the Woolshed Restaurant with local wines.
Brachina Gorge, Yulua Circuit and Trezona Loop
Today’s walk takes us to Brachina Gorge with its spectacular ridges of quartzite. Walk into the Aroona Valley. See some ruins of a historic homestead and out onto a ridgeline that offers extensive views over the central Flinders Ranges. Brachina Gorge is extremely picturesque with winding river beds and an abundance of geological formations to marvel at. This gorge is home to the Yellow footed rock wallabies in Australia which can often be seen basking on the rocky outcrops
Rawnsley Bluff
Guest have the option to sit out any day’s walk and relax at Rawnsley Park Station.
This walk is a challenging climb to the Wilpena Pound escarpment. but delivers spectacular views into the Pound and south to Chace Range. We start our walk following the creek bed before gradually climbing to Lone Pine Lookout and Rawnsley Bluff. With breathtaking views of inside Wilpena Pound as the distant mountain ranges this walk is a photographer’s paradise. Tonight we return to the Woolshed restaurant to chat about the day’s adventures enjoying a superb dinner with local wines.
This afternoon after ouor walk join our flight from Rawnsley Park Station back to Adelaide then end of a superb journey. Arrivinga t aprroximately 6.30pm.
