The roomy main bedroom has a king size bed and its own ensuite and a quiet sitting area, looking out over the lawns and river. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. There is a second bathroom with a washing machine. The fully-landscaped gardens lead to mesmerising views over the Tamar and beyond.

For the food and wine lover, there is an extensive library of cookbooks, fruit trees, a herb garden and a barbecue pit. Rates include first-day starter breakfast provisions, ground coffee and a Nespresso machine, and a complimentary bottle of local wine. You have sole occupancy of the property.

Windermere is on a beautiful section of the eastern Tamar with easy access to historic towns, mountains, beaches, berry farms, orchards and wineries, fine restaurants and gourmet produce.

Windermere is a 15-minute drive (20 km) north of Launceston.
