A two day Kangaroo Island tour – your chance to discover the fascinating wildlife, spectacular scenery and unique local produce. With return coach and ferry transfers to Kangaroo Island, and overnight accommodation, all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your time away.
First stop is Seal Bay for a walk along the beach amongst a breeding colony of rare Australian sea lions. Enjoy a delicious two course lunch, before heading to Flinders Chase National Park. Devastated by the fires in January 2020, you’ll be able to see the regeneration of the bush first hand, and stop at Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch for photo opportunities. Finish the day at Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where you can feed kangaroos and get up close to koalas.
Day 2 is all about meeting the local producers, and after the fascinating Free Flight Birds of Prey Presentation at Raptor Domain, you will visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, join a guided tour at Clifford’s Honey Farm and enjoy tastings at the new False Cape Wines Cellar Door.
Operates: 6.45am day one to 10.30pm day two, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (except 24 & 25 December).
Itinerary highlights
Penneshaw
The main town on Dudley Peninsula, Penneshaw is a pretty coastal village on the northeast coast, with spectacular views of the South Australian mainland.
Penneshaw is the island’s only ferry port with regular services operating between it and Cape Jervis, and it is where your coach tour of Kangaroo Island begins.
Seal Bay
Seal Bay Conservation Park is home to the third largest colony of Australian sea lions. Visitors can take a 45 minute guided beach walk into the heart of the wild colony, giving you a unique insight into how they hunt, surf, rest and interact with each other. Alternatively you may prefer to observe them from the safety of the boardwalk.
Raptor Domain
The ultimate interactive wildlife experience, Raptor Domain is an Environmental Education and Raptor Rehabilitation Centre, and an entertaining experience for the whole family.
During the Birds of Prey presentation, see eagles, owls, falcons, kookaburras and much more. Put on a glove and have one of the amazing birds fly to you.
Meet the lizards and snakes during the Fang-Tastic show, where you can hold and learn about these enchanting reptiles. Or try the new Venom Pit where you can get up close and personal with some of Australia’s deadliest creatures in a safe environment – enter if you dare!
Flinders Chase National Park
Flinders Chase National Park encompasses the western end of Kangaroo Island and is home to two of the islands iconic landmarks, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
Sculpted by the elements over 500 million years, the Remarkable Rocks’ surreal beauty is popular with amateur and professional photographers alike.
Admirals Arch frames the Long-nosed Fur Seals basking on the rocky shoreline, and you can watch the fierce ocean swells from the safety of the boardwalk and viewing platform.
