Escape the winter chill with one of McLaren Vale’s most unique seasonal tasting experiences

This experience takes place every Sunday at 11:30 am from June through August in the cosy Hastwell & Lightfoot cellar door. Enjoy a guided mulled wine masterclass celebrating the rich history, spices, aromas and traditions of warm spiced wine.

You’ll taste three completely different styles of mulled and warm spiced wines — from traditional European-inspired recipes to modern Australian interpretations — while discovering how the base wine transforms through spice, citrus, sweetness and heat.

Along the way, you’ll compare each finished mulled wine against its original base wine so you can experience the fascinating evolution of flavour in the glass.

Your experience includes:
A guided tasting of three mulled/spiced wine styles
Comparative tasting of the base wines used
Stories, history and production techniques behind mulled wine traditions
Take home receipes to recreate the experience at home

Add on a platter for lunch if interested! Additional mugs of mulled wine will also be available to purchase on the day. This experience must be pre-booked.

Warm, intimate, delicious and deeply comforting — this is winter in McLaren Vale at its best.
