Stay at Stanley Grammar Country House and experience the grandeur of a 1863 historic grammar school in the heart of the Clare Valley. Close to wineries, restaurants, cafes, shopping, attractions and historic towns, all averaging a 5 to 15 minutes drive or walk. Watervale is an easy 90 minute drive from Adelaide.
There are four suites, each with ensuite bathrooms, all beautifully decorated with a choice of French provincial, Oriental, traditional and contemporary themes.
Privacy is also considered. With a group together it’s only that group. Individual couples that don’t know each other, only 2 separate couples a time, and they are allocated in a totally separate areas in the building away from each other.
The building is State heritage listed with Georgian architecture being very huge and grand. There’s the old schoolroom now a formal lounge and dining area, a billiard room, guest kitchen and another upstairs lounge room. Enjoy wide surround verandas overlooking vineyards and gardens all in a peaceful countryside setting with abundance of birdlife. Importantly it’s all very quiet.
Undoubtedly your stay will be truly memorable offering a unique experience in a grand historic setting. Guests continually come back and the word spreads always.

Classic Deluxe Suite
This is a downstairs suite has just recently refurbished and decorated in classic contemporary furniture and decor. There’s a queen size bed and new modern bathroom. Your suite and 3 rooms being the lounge room, bedroom and bathroom. Plus you can walk onto the veranda and also overlook the garden and fountain which is just lovely when your lying in bed or just relaxing on the lounge.
French Deluxe Suite
A very romantic suite that couples love to be in. The suite is enormous with 13 foot ceilings, king size bed, private ensuite bathroom, and romantic French ornate furnishings that bring a feeling of luxury living in a romantic setting.
Oriental Suite
The suite is beautifully decorated with an Oriental theme with king bed and private ensuite. The suite is a generous size with oriental furnishings. This is a very relaxing and serene room, offering contemporary themes with a mix of luxury.
Alice Suite
The suite is beautifully decorated in a contemporary theme with queen size bed and brand new private ensuite bathroom. The room is very generous in size and has an atmosphere thats very soft and relaxing.
