The Abbey, a centre for spirituality and the environment, is situated on two hectares of open bushland in a magnificent location near Montague Point on Raymond Island.

Surrounded on three sides by remnant bush, on the shores of the Gippsland Lakes, The Abbey is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, amazing bird life and resident tawny frogmouths.

When you stay at The Abbey you are immersed in the wonder of the natural environment. You can’t but hear the rustle of the wind in the trees, or stop to marvel at a Koala, or be caught up in the playful interchange of the dolphins. When you walk along the water’s edge the beauty, grandeur and fragility of the planet speaks.

The Abbey is a place for enjoyment and activity, or silence and rest: for pilgrimage, reflection, healing, learning and recreation.

There are eight modern motel style rooms with queen and single beds, small cottage, commercial kitchen and dining area, conference room and chapel.

The Abbey welcomes individual and group bookings.

And – its just a short walk along the Board Walk to the ferry, and into Paynesville for good coffee and fine dining.
