Escape to the pure tranquillity of the Miners Cottage, located on the edge of the South Australian wine region of the Barossa Valley in peaceful Cockatoo Valley. This restored eighteenth century stone miners cottage includes a living room with open fireplace. It has been faithfully restored with a perfect mix of history and modern comforts, including a beautiful bathroom with a clawfoot bath, double shower and the luxury of underfloor heating, quality linen and special touches ensuring luxury in every aspect.
Every window of the cottage frames a perfect bushland setting and the back veranda looks out over the summer pavilion and lap pool. At dusk from the back veranda, you can look across the valley and Yakka Creek to see the occasional kangaroo and screeching cockatoos emphasise the Australian landscape
If you can bare to leave the peace and serenity of the cottage, it is the perfect base from which to explore the many local wineries, excellent restaurants, wonderful farmers market, the Whispering Wall or the bike trail.

Miners Cottage
Miners Cottage is a self contained cottage with kitchenette, sitting room with open fire, Haigh’s chocolates, port, Bose sound dock, bedroom with queen sized bed, quality linen and electric blanket, a luxurious bathroom, with separate access under the main roof, featuring a claw foot bath, double shower head, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, bath robes, Molten Brown products and stunning views.
Full Kitchen facilities can be accessed in the Miners Cottage Barn kitchen immediately adjacent the Miners Cottage. The interior has every modern convenience including a gas cooktop, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. Enjoy the open plan sitting room with flat screen television, DVD and Sony surround sound. A booking for two will have exclusive use. A booking for four or six will share this space.
Generous breakfast provisions from local produce included.
The Miners Cottage complex includes The Miners Cottage, The Miners Cottage Barn and The Lavender Cabin. We can accommodate up to six people. Book exclusively for one couple or up to three couples can enjoy completely independent privacy and enjoy the communal areas of the cottage barn Kitchen and television room, the lap pool and entertaining area.
The Miners Cottage Barn
The Miners Cottage Barn can only be be booked in addition to the Miners Cottage for up to two additional guests in your group.
Miners Cottage Barn is a separate cottage housed in the timber barn immediately adjacent the the Miners Cottage. The interior has every modern convenience. The Barn is self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen including a gas stove, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. Enjoy the open plan sitting room with flat screen television, DVD and Sony surround sound. There is a separate bedroom with queen bed, quality linen and electric blanket, ensuite with shower (toilet accessed in cottage bathroom), Sukin bathroom products and beautiful bushland views. Toilet is accessed in the Cottage bathroom from the veranda. Both side of the Barn are air-conditioned.
Generous breakfast provisions include locally sourced bacon, free range eggs and fresh seasonal fruit.
The Lavender Cabin
The Lavender Cabin can only be be booked in addition to the Miners Cottage and The Cottage Barn for up to two additional guests in your group.
Located in close proximity to the Miners Cottage, The Lavender Cabin has a studio style bedroom living area with garden views, queen sized bed with quality linen and electric blanket, ensuite bathroom with shower, Australian Sukin bathroom products, refrigerator, toaster, kettle, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities,TV and an outdoor sitting area.
Generous breakfast provisions include locally sourced bacon, free range eggs and fresh seasonal fruit.
