Itinerary highlights
Busselton Jetty
Busselton Jetty Train & Underwater Observatory:
One of our stops on the way to Margaret River will be in the idyllic beachside town of Busselton. Our destination is the iconic Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere, stretching out into the calm waters of Geographe Bay. We will catch the cute, red jetty train out to the end, enjoying 360-degree views of the Indian Ocean and the white, sandy beach on either side. At the end of the jetty, we will descend into the Underwater Observatory – one of only six in the world – where you can look out on the best artificial reef in Australia. The jetty piles are covered with colourful tropical corals and sponges and are home to more than three hundred different marine species.
Ngilgi Cave:
Semi-guided tour begins with introductory talk while being led down the first chamber, visitors then explore at their own pace, a guide is stationed in the cave to answer questions and provide information on many areas of the cave with a ancient lands experience.
McHenry Hohnen:
What is a tour of Margaret River from Perth, without visiting wineries? One of the wineries we will stop at on day two of our tour is McHenry Hohnen, a place that focuses on sustainability, and creating ‘wines of purity and place.’ They use biodynamic farming and minimal intervention winemaking methods to create the most high-quality wines, while respecting the surrounding environment and prioritising natural processes. On our visit, we will enjoy tastings of their lovely single-vineyard wines, paired with a selection of free-range smoked and cured meats.
