You don’t need a 4WD to spend quality time on K’gari (Fraser Island). With a Day Away package, you can literally laze the day away on K’gari’s sheltered western bay.
The ‘Day Away’ package from Hervey Bay includes:
– Return passenger ferry transfers.
– A ranger-guided resort morning walk and beach activities available.
– A delicious poolside lunch at The Sand Bar.
– Day use of the island’s western beach, four lagoon-style swimming pools, and walking trails.
– Full access to all resort facilities.
They can arrange to pick you up and drop you from your commercial accommodation in Hervey Bay for just AUD10 per person.

Your ‘Day Away’ starts with a scenic cruise across the Great Sandy Strait on the 9am ferry from River Heads to Kingfisher Bay Resort. On arrival, you’ll be met by one of the Resort Rangers, who will provide you with information about your day’s activities and help you explore the surrounding areas.
