Itinerary highlights
Whale Watching Tour
From August whale watching commences in Geographe Bay at Dunsborough, and visitors can view the whales as they make their southern migration to Antarctica for summer feeding.
For three months Geographe Bay plays host to a large number of cows and calves. Geographe Bay is transformed into a whale nursery, providing a calm and protective haven for the weary young as they feed and strengthen before continuing their journey into the Southern Ocean.
On most tours, Naturaliste Charters passengers witness the feeding calves and hear the ‘whale song’ – an unforgettable experience.
In recent years, Geographe Bay has also played host to the world’s largest animal – the rare and endangered Blue Whale. Normally only seen in the Antarctic, this species was first sighted by the crew of Naturaliste Charters, and has increasingly been sighted in the bay between the months of October and November. Departing daily 10am and 2pm.
