Rising within the Buderoo National Park, the Kangaroo River winds its way through beautiful Kangaroo Valley, through areas of untouched wilderness, rainforests and verdant farmland, until it converges with the Shoalhaven River in Tallowa Dam.
Kayakers can enjoy still-water paddling surrounded by the sounds of birds or plan adventurous overnight paddles, camping along the way.
The Kangaroo River area is also a mecca for bushwalkers, with tall forests and abundant wildlife, pristine creeks, and cliff edge views of river gorges and endless wilderness, along with a sense of history of our early farming pioneers.
A fisherman’s paradise, the Kangaroo River is a great place to fish for bass, and some huge carp as well as fresh and sea mullet. The odd trout have also been caught.
