River Drive is a five-room boutique motel located in the coastal town of Tarwin Lower, just a two-hour drive away from Melbourne. Tucked alongside the Tarwin River, the motel, sitting within one acre of garden offers tranquil riverside accommodation and breezy strolls to local activities. It’s a relaxed getaway for all – family, romantic or solitary.
The motel has been lovingly refurbished, featuring modern Australian design throughout. With a nod to holiday nostalgia, the result is a cosy atmosphere for everyone to kick back, relax and make lasting memories.
River Drive is a self-contained motel. You will be given a unique code to access your room throughout your stay. Once you are in, the staff won’t disturb you unless you need them! Each room also has a dedicated on-site parking for your convenience.
Amenities have been thoughtfully provided. For your extra grazing needs, guests can preorder breakfast or aperitivo hampers from local heroes Udder and Hoe or purchase a selection of incredible local and small line drinks and snacks from the mini bar.
The motel sits within a one acre garden and guests are invited to enjoy the outdoor space complete with outdoor shower, barbeques and sink for washing up all the fish you catch, along with picnic tables and bike parking.

The Nest Room 3
Designed with families in mind, this room offers a queen bed and a beautiful bunk bed nestled behind a custom screen. Featuring a full kitchen with induction cooktop and extra pantry storage, a lounge/dining area and a private patio. The bathroom features a shower over bath for all your relaxing needs.
This river front room with parking directly in front is 38 sqm in space and includes an external patio area. The room sleeps up to four (two adults and two children) with one x Queen bed and one x bunk with two King singles.
The Snug – Room 4
Designed with couples in mind, the room offers a spacious lounge area with an enormous golden daybed and a handy kitchenette complete with an induction hotplate and a fridge. A separate sleeping area with a queen bed is tucked behind a custom screen for extra cosiness. The bathroom features a shower over bath.
The room is 27 sqm with an external patio area with a table and chairs. The room sleeps two, perfect for a solo traveller or couple with one x Queen bed.
Two Bedroom Apartment – Room 5
Sleeps up to five, this suite consists of two bedrooms attached to a spacious open-plan living area with a full kitchen. One bedroom offers a queen bed and the other a bunk bed with a queen lower bed. It’s perfectly set up for family and friendly retreats.
Located facing the garden, this 47 sqm room also includes an external patio area with a table, shared with Room 4. Perfect for a group or family, the room sleeps up to four adults and a child. Bedroom One includes one x Queen bed, and Bedroom Two includes one x Queen bed and one x single bunk.
