Starting at the corner of Sir Lewis Cohen Ave and South Tce, we’ll take in the historic Lundie Gardens, the Princess Elizabeth playground, the playing fields, native bush regeneration, the Park’s historic connection to an annual “Wattle Day” and controversial record of tree plantings. Suitable for children, and bring your dog as well (on a lead).

Diagonal Sugar Gum pedestrian and cyclist avenue
A shared-use path running diagonnally through the centrte of the Park, lined with huge sugar gums planted almost 100 years ago
Former Wattle Grove – and history of Wattle Day
A long-forgotten grove of wattle trees – where during the rearly 1900’s annual war memorial services were held, on ‘Wattle Day’
Bush for Life Biodiversity site
A vigorous program of replanting, both trees and understorey has regenerated biodiversity in the south-east portion of the Park
Lundie Gardens and Princess Elizabeth playground
In the NW sector of the Park, a formal gardens named for a popular left-wing City Councillor of the early 1900’s; and a playground named in 1927 for a three-year-old girl, who later became Queen.

Adelaide Park Lands Walking Tours
Guided Walks to explore little-known nooks and crannies of Adelaide’s greatest treasure: the unique open spaces of its Park Lands.
Adelaide is the only city in the world garlanded by Park Lands. In effect the city is built inside a park, and each part of the Park has its own unique features, heritage, and current usage.
Guided Walks are led by trained Tour leaders and can take between 90 minutes and two hours depending upon the location.
