The Yankalilla, Rapid Bay and Myponga Show, is one of South Australia’s friendly one day country show days.
It’s a short drive from Adelaide and is a great day out for everyone. The Show features indoor and outdoor exhibits in 20 different sections with over 80 categories.
The sections include Cookery, Painting and Handicraft and many more including special sections for Children, Under 5 to 17. The horse events are a special feature of the show. Other outdoor categories include Sheep and Wool. There is usually a Shearing demonstration.
There is live entertainment on two different stages throughout the day.
The Yankabald Portrait competition, a portrait of a local identity, is a unique feature of the Show.
There are show rides and stalls, an art and a photography exhibition, camel and pony rides and a diversity of food offerings.
In an exceptionally beautiful, rural setting, Yankalilla Show Day, is a great opportunity to appreciate the Show motto ‘Agriculture makes life possible. Horticulture makes life worthwhile.’
Always held on the Saturday of the October long weekend.
