Join us for an in depth Wine Masterclass, truly learning what makes Clare Valley so unique.

Begin your experience with a one hour Wine Masterclass featuring a Clare Valley Wine Flight hand-selected by Sommelier Warrick Duthy. Learn about Clare Valley terroir, geology, geography, and what makes our wines so diverse and positively different.

Following on with a full Feed Me Menu curated by our Head Chef and low-waste warrior Nicola Palmer. A variety of small and large dishes including dessert showcasing fresh, seasonal farm-to-plate produce from our local farm partners including the organic and bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm.

Available Monday to Friday at 11am.

The Watervale Hotel has recently been awarded ‘Best Environmental and Energy Efficiency Practices Hotel in Australia’ at the 2022 AHA National Awards for Excellence. In 2021 our wine list was awarded the ‘Best Pub Restaurant Wine List in Australia’ at the Australian Wine List Awards and ‘Best Wine List in South Australia’ by the Restaurant & Catering Association.

Watervale Hotel Experiences

The Watervale Hotel has won some 40 awards since re-opening in September 2020 including ‘Best Restaurant in a Pub or Club in Australia’ (RCA).

Penobscot Restaurant at the Watervale Hotel is a farm fresh-to-plate restaurant within the kitchen on the Chefs Table, sourcing produce from a number of local farms, including their own organic, bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm. Proprietor Nicola Palmer was awarded ‘SA Chef of the Year’ in 2022 (RCA).

The Penobscot Farm Tour and Degustation dining at the Chef’s Table every day. This tour was recognized as the Best Culinary Experience in a Hotel Restaurant, in the world, by LuxLife magazine. Lunch is served at 12 noon, dinner at 6pm. The Farm tour starts at 4pm and can be packaged with lunch or dinner.

The Watervale Hotel offers a la carte and Feed Me menus in a casual Pub in the Clare Valley Wine region. The beautifully renovated Hotel boasts a large beer garden and several private dining spaces ideal for special occasions, meetings and events.

The three-glass rated wine list showcases Clare Valley diversity and match Clare Valley wines to their Degustation Dinners and Cooking Masterclass lunch.

A Clare Valley Wine Masterclass is offered at 11am every day. This can be followed by a Feed Me lunch as the ‘Teach Me, Feed Me’ experience.
